Private Bar

This is another incredible space by Meiger Kitchens & Interiors. Ribble AV was again their partner of choice to bring this private bar to life with our AV and lighting systems.

Client Brief and Project Scope

Our amazing clients approached Meiger to convert their disused gym into a bar where they can entertain and host parties without entering the rest of their home. They wanted a night club level sound system which they can stream music to and also be able to have a DJ connect to for parties.

A large projection screen was also requested so that sporting events can be watched, but they wanted it to 'disappear' when not in use.

The space also features a huge sky light, which in summer, causes the room to be incredibly hot and uncomfortable, so it was also requested that shading solution was to be provided.

With this brief in mind, Meiger knew that Ribble AV was the company to bring their clients dreams to reality.

Audio

With the request for night club levels of sound, we knew that the only answer was to install an out and out night club sound system and Void acoustics is our partner of choice for this. This consisted of 6 wall mount speakers in the corners of the room and a large subwoofer hidden out of sight under the bench seating. This sound system is nothing short of incredible.

We also supplied a set of pioneer all in one DJ decks which fits perfectly on top of the bar island. This is also super simply installed and removed as and when required by plugging into the input plate that we retro fitted into the motorised power socket pod installed into the stone work top.

Projection

For the hidden projection system, we concealed a high light output laser projector from JVC in a motorised projector lift, and paired it with an ambient light rejecting motorised drop down screen.

This provides a fantastic image even with the lights on. Everything automatically extends into use and retracts out of sight from a touch of a button from our super simple to use Control4 system. The customer can watch their Sky Q box or Amazon Fire stick through this system, and all audio is played through the speaker system in the space.

Lighting and Shading

The space has a large amount of RGBW colour change lighting which can be very difficult to simply control. We designed, built and commissioned a DMX lighting control panel that we seamlessly integrated into the Control4 system for super simple mood and scene setting from either a wall keypad, touchscreen or mobile app.

For the skylight we supplied and installed a dual tensioned roller blind system from Lutron. This silently provides shade across the entire sky light and completely changes the mood and environment of the space.

Conclusion

This was an incredible project to be a part of and so much fun for the entire team. The end result is nothing short of incredible, and we know that many parties and good times have been had in this space and is regularly enjoyed. The entire space is a credit to everyone involved.
